Do you make character bibles for each of your main characters? Or discover their personalities as you write? One way to get inside a character’s head is to find out what music they love—or hate. What music reminds them of childhood, or love, or loss?
Write a short scene where your character arrives at a … bar? Restaurant? Concert? Suspect’s home? And music is playing.
What is it? Jazz, rock, classical, opera, country? How does your character respond and react? Why?
